Recently I took the time to look at the mission and vision statements of two billion-dollar online platforms, Airbnb and LinkedIn.
The Airbnb value that resonated with me is:
Embrace the Adventure: We're driven by curiosity, optimism, and the belief that every person can grow
I consider curiosity, optimism and growth-mindset as some of the key traits that I strive for and want to improve upon. Curiosity has led mankind towards infinite innovations and brought about incredible advancements among us. Optimism is the driving force for a person as you may have heard, 'Empty mind is a devil's workshop' and if you are not positive you let that devil manifest on your life. Growth-mindset is hands-down the most significant quality since no matter how curious or optimistic you are if you are not willing to look past your mistakes, learn from them. If you are not willing to grow beyond your small cacoon then friend, you have a serious problem on your hands. As for LinkedIn, it is Integrity and Collaboration as there are multiple routes to gain success and meet goals. However, I believe if you are not doing right by everyone then it is not worth the effort. Taking a shortcut is acceptable in your path to success. But if that has serious repercussions and harms somebody, then it is the time to take a step back and analyze your actions.
