Let's start a business!

Today, 13th May, I had the opportunity of attending a webinar - Starting a business and freelancing during COVID-19 for international students like myself. Presented by Gerard Holland and Domenic Saporito from Outcome.Life and funded by Study NSW with the guest speaker Paul Breen. I took loads of valuable advice from it and would like to share some key takeaways:

💡 Your business idea is just 5% of the process, you should not be afraid to share it with other thinking that they might steal it. Your idea will definitely evolve over time. However, the feedback you get from sharing your idea is invaluable.


💸 Try to have a bootstrap mentality and think about how you can get more benefits from the limited money that you have access to.


🤝 Make sure that there is a Product-Market Fit. For example, Starbucks had to shut down more than half of its stores in Australia as it did not find the correct market as they had back in the US.
